Sales for their initial year of operation totaled 60 thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and various parts. During five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 workers and their yearly sales volume had increased to $330,000. Nowadays, Cascade is one of the leading worldwide producers in the material handling business.
Production and design of the company's very first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive quest of better business possibilities. During the past 60 years, the material handling business has matured into a very sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this improvement. In the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio the next production facility was built. The year 1960 marked Cascade's initial transfer into the international world of the material handling industry as the company recognized interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In 1964, the business changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the company went public with an initial offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing amenities throughout the continental USA to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon.
