Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They began as a small machine shop in the beginning hiring 4 individuals. Product sales for their first year of operation amounted to about 60 thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. During 5 years of operation, the company had stretched to forty staff and their annual sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. These days, Cascade is one of the leading global manufacturers in the material handling business.
Design and production of the company's original hydraulic cylinder allowed this young business to aggressively engage in new business opportunities. Throughout the last 60 years, the trade of material handling has developed into a very complex field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade at the moment continues to develop as the best supplier of lift truck attachments and different related products. The company feels confident in their capability to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's requirements in the future and remaining competitive within the global market.
During the 1950's, Cascade started to fabricate, design, and sell its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was built in 1956, to house all of the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current center of operations. Subsequent to 15 years of business, total staff reached one hundred eighty workers and sales had reached almost two million three hundred thousand dollars.
1959 in Springfield, Ohio a second manufacturing facility was built. 1960 marked Cascade's initial transfer into the global world of the material handling industry as the company recognized interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In the year 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the company went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Ever since then the business has expanded its manufacturing services within the continental USA to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are manufactured worldwide thanks to numerous subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is made to be the essential customer service centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and 1997 after acquiring 5 companies, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the global leader in forks.
